Three weeks till party: Menu Planning

Whenever I am planning a menu, I like to stick to recipes that have similar or versatile ingredients. Why? Because it keeps your shopping list under budget and you can use left over items during the week after your party.

Sangria Party Menu:

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Choice of Sandwich rolls or soft tortillas
Toppings- cole slaw, jalepeños, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, shredded cheese and salsa

Hoagie Tray

Spinach Parmesan Dip
Loaded potato Dip
Tortilla Chips


White wine Sangria w/ peaches
White wine Sangria w/ apples
White wine Sangria w/ pineapples
Non-alcoholic Sangria

With my menu listed I know with left over items, I can then use during the week to make other dishes.

Take for example, the taco toppings. Quesadillas, pork and beans, or Spanish rice can be made. The dips will be made using Greek yogurt, does Greek yogurt drizzled with honey sound good? And the tortilla chips can be used to make nachos! Any remaining fruit from the Sangria can be use to make a fruit salad or apple muffins from the left over flour used to make your cupcakes.

If you’re still not convinced, buy some take home containers from the Dollar Store and have guests take left overs. Have your containers ready so as the party is dwindling down you have them ready to set on the table letting guests know to take home leftovers.
