Wilton Level One Course-3rd Lesson and a Crabby Cupcake Part 2

Wow! It’s been awhile since writing the last post so much has happened since Memorial Day weekend! Picking up from my last post, I set out to make cupcakes with a traced on design and other with piped icing as shown in the third lesson. The best part was mixing the icing, small amount of the decoration gel goes a long way!

The icing turned out to be a salmon looking pink/red and the blue was a sky blue hawaiian color

I could’ve decorated traditional themed cupcakes like the one found on Wilton’s website. But with the results of my buttercream color icing decided to pipe the blue frosting and trace on a crab design. The cupcakes were either piped or smoothed over with the blue icing:

After letting the iced cupcakes hardened in the fridge, a crab design was traced onto the cupcakes. The design piped on the wax paper wouldn’t stick to the cupcake, maybe I shouldn’t have put the cupcakes in the fridge? I attempted to trace on the crab design and without much success drew the crab by hand, enter the crabby cupcake:
